“The world needs to see Jesus living anew in the lives of spirit-born mortals who effectively reveal the Master to all men” (195:10.16/2082.2) What astonishing implications! We can live so that Jesus can live anew in us. And we can grow to reveal him effectively to everyone! Now there’s a resolution for 2020!
Those who do so are the first wave of revelation, the first installment on a project whose potentials are hard to believe. “The great hope of Urantia lies in the possibility of a new revelation of Jesus with a new and enlarged presentation of his saving message which would unite in loving service the numerous families of his present-day professed followers.”
These families include Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Protestant varieties, and others who do not identify as Christian. We all need to unite in loving service.
It’s like the great hope of Jesus to win the religious leaders in Jerusalem, so that Judaism, the religion that had more truth in it than any other religion on the planet, would become the network through which the gospel of the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man in all its many-sided glory would spread to all the families of the earth.
In my personal experience, after working for decades on holistic personal growth, helping to construct a new and appealing philosophy of living, evangelism, the Urantia Book movement . . . spending the past six months fully engaged in this project, by writing a book to help it happen and in other socially engaged ways . . . this project I find to be the most difficult, challenging, and growth promoting one of all.
What is the place of The Urantia Book in this project? Obvious but not yet. If we were to publicize The Urantia Book to the churches, it would precipitate premature conflict, premature rejection, and inoculate Christianity against its great hope.
